Before you remove it
Taking a tracker off can alert whoever put it there. If it is safe to do so, consider speaking to the police first. Either way, it helps to:
- Photograph the device and where you found it
- Note any label, serial number or IMEI printed on it
- Write down when and where you found it
Tell us
If you are not sure whose device it is, report it anyway. We will check it against our records. You do not need to give your name.
If you give us an email address or phone number, use one the other person cannot see.
You can also email support@excubia.uk with "Tracker misuse report" in the subject line, or call us on 01709 278468.
What we do with a report
- We reply within 2 working days if you have given us a way to reach you.
- We check whether the device is registered to an Excubia account.
- If it is, and the report is credible, we can suspend tracking on that device while we look into it.
- We keep the relevant records, so they are there if the police need them.
- We never tell the account holder who made the report.
- We cannot give you the account holder's details ourselves, but we will share them with the police on a lawful request.
Using Excubia to track a person without a lawful basis is a breach of our terms, and may be a crime. How we handle the information in a report is set out in our privacy policy.
